Assistant Controller

Summary /Objective
Learn all aspects of the accounting department and assist the Controller in making firm financial decisions for the company as approved by the Owner/President. This position has growth potential.
Essential Functions
Oversee the processing of daily ticket entry, ensuring accuracy by doing a weekly proof of all data entry
Process payroll on a weekly basis, file payroll taxes, submit all quarterly payroll filings as well as annual W-2 processing
Process monthly Simple IRA remittances and work with HR department to implement annual enrollment
Assist in overseeing the activities of the accounts receivable department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components.
Serve as a backup in processing annual renewals of company fleets, fuel tax, and other trucking related filings
Respond to owner/controller as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs.
Communicate with co-workers, management, customers and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.

Proficiency in accounting standards.
Great attention to detail.
Must be dependable, trustworthy and able to uphold strict confidentiality.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
